Now I hope that you've realized that I haven't been writing about Russia quite as much. I have told you that when I feel happy, I miss nowhere, and when I'm sad, I miss everywhere. This is just the way things work for me. Lots of things have happened that have shook things up (the meaning of that previous poem being one of them.) But i hope that you can bear with me. Ever since covid I've become more absorbed in my stories. I daresay God used covid to push me to write more. It must be true. It was one of the few constants I had and suddenly I found myself pouring adventurous spirits into my characters when I could hardly do that myself. Thankfully my imagination is wild and it just had me pulling through (ok, God pulled me through. Thankyou God. On inspiration of a prompt Emma found, I wrote this. It deserves a poem, I reckon. 20. We sat in the car, waiting for Mum to come back from the groceries. My Dad talks to my Grandma. 19. Trip there. When we started the road trip, I felt very happy and at home. I’ve been on more road trips than the average person, since my family has travelled a lot – Mum’s from Canada, Dad’s from Australia, they met in Russia. That explain a lot. So, as we began driving and were on the edge of Howard Springs, I felt so free, and I was glad my trip had begun. It is significantly dryer as you drive south because there is a desert. Lots of people seem to think that the desert would be hot, but it gets very cold at night - and it does the same in the winter when we travelled. The desert in far more arid further south. There were tons of termite hills in the desert, which stirred my imagination. There weren’t any people out there except for the occasional truck every couple of hours. but there were termites.
